My School Experience (Hjortebroskolen)!!!!

Having a school experince in Denmark!!It was really like a dream for me.Because everybody knows that Danish educational system is excellent...Everything was okey, Hanne and Ulla were trying to give us informations about Danish school system and their experince for last two weeks.

Not only students but also teachers always sing songs with playing the piano for fifteen minutes in the saloon before they start the lessons. The students from 4. class, 5.class ,6. class are composed a big group and it is also usefull for them to be more sociable.Being together with other class is important thing to connect each other.Althought the hall is a little bit crowded, (shshshshshs)one action is enough to make them quiet..After the singing the teacher generally introduces the books which have just come to the library. Also in some important days the teacher gives some information about it.In Turkey we don't sing a song before the lessons and we generally celebrate our important days the garden of school.

Most of the time in the lessons the teacher asks the students some questions. In my opinion it is good way to make the students active.Otherwise some of the students start to sleep :)

Sometimes there are two teacher in the class. The reason for this when some students need special education, the main teacher asks one more teacher to support her/him.That's great idea unfortunately it is not possible in Turkey for now.I hope we can see this application in Turkey in the future.

The students have an exam on the computer. It is interesting for me because in Turkey it is not common that the students take a quiz on the computer except quiz of computer lessons :)
It was quiz of mathematics lessons we don't understand Danish so much but you know the language of mathematics is a little bit international so we observe, understand the quiz .I am really surprised because almost there isn't upper limit and the teacher give additional time for the students who is late and the teacher can follow them on the computer.I think that the athmospere is good for the exam.In Turkey generally if there is a quiz, it is time to feel stressful :S

Some pupils are good at count the number and learn with traditional way and some pupil are good at other activities for instance project work. The most important thing is to ensure the emergence of their ability.

We came to the laboratory for the biology lessons. It was used not only biology but also other science lessons. The teacher has chosen three biology books for a year.Ulla (our guide teacher for school experince) showed us the books. They were about healty and life style, ecological system, DNA and genetics. The books were very visual and with connection daily life as always.

In the class there are a lot of material, pictures, poster of films which the students could be interested in as always Danish class :) In Turkey there are some materials in the class for public school but it is not enough but you can see a lot of material in the private schools.

In my opinion Ulla loves in with her job.She is always so enerjic when she come to school.Even she has a break, she wants to pass her time by watching to students.Absolutely she knows the best way to approach to students and how to teach.I feel that ı am so lucky to meet her.

Also the students start to make tablo on excel. Some students work alone some students work with him/her pair and whenever the pupils need to help, Ulla tries to help all of them.I think it is important thing which they can use information about computer program during the math lessons so they can combine their informations. In Turkey we usually use the computer just computer lessons. So that is why we might have difficulty to combine the informations.Because generally every lessons is independent each other and very high level so it can be problem for us.

I think that good education system depends on the teachers how to be grown, how to be studied in the university. In Denmark One teacher has a few branch so they can combine the information about the lessons. For example; Math-Computer..So the students have a chance to use their information when they need something in daily life.In Turkey for example I am studying mathematics teacher. If I want to have one more another branch, I have to study more 4 years..
I believe that this experince will be very usefull for my work life..

Drama and Movement in Aabenraa!!!

Movement, music, masks, mimics..:) After the great easter holiday we started to drama lessons with the teacher Flemming. So we came to in Aabenraa at the other part of college for social educators.Flemming is so kind and friendly. He gave some information about the programme and tried to learn our names by playing little game :) It was the first time I had had lesson about drama. In the beginning I felt a little shy but the activities made me more relax as the teacher said.

During the drama lessons we made a lot of activity.Every part of them was so enjoyable and creative. We acted from embryo to normal child.Especially this part was so effective. We had to discover everything so we imagined how to behave. We discovered our body, organs, abilities after than we tried to recognize surrounding objects of us and saw other people.

Also we were divided three group and we met mask !!!I liked the mask and I felt very different feelings when I used the mask.Flemming firstly showed us a few movement to show his emotional by using mask.It was amazing..So every group had a music. Our music was too slow and it was about sad feelings. We tried to create some movements by listening the music. Also we worked in the seperate rooms.Afterwards all of them we acted and watched every performence.I liked all the performances. Each one of performances was very different and effective. It was really great experience for me.

After the drama lessons we travelled the city center and walked arond the beach all together. All of them was also nice I like Erasmus, I like Erasmus teachers and friends, I like Denmark :))

Thanks to everybody

Great trip to LeGolanD !!

On easter holiday we went to Billund to visit to Legoland as group.Ten people from our class made up the group(Vojta, Ondrej, Viki, Zeliha, Maria, Caroline, Loes, Sinem, Katka and me :)) It was first day of Legoland so the tickets were cheaper than normal. The trip was like a dream for me.I felt that I was in another world. The little Amalienborg, Nyhavn, Harbor, Bridges... All of them was incredible. It was the best one of places I had ever been. All the day we have tried almost every activity and we felt like a child :) That was funny that we didn't realize any signs of fatigue.I think that my little brother would like to be there.I would really like my little brother could see there. Thanks to everyone involved Also thanks Vojta and Ondrej for organizing..:)

our Danish lessons :)

Hej!! :) Of course I am going to mention about our Danish lessons..First of all I must say that Danish Language is really difficult.Especially the words’ pronounciation is difficult although we have learnt pronounce the letters .Thus I have a difficulty about reading text in Danish. In my opinion I don’t think Turkish language is easy to learn but if you know how to pronounce all the letters, you can read texts.Because Turkish language is read as it is written. So it is easy to learn to read Turkish :)

Our teacher is very nice and friendly and we had a lot of activities during the Danish lessons.Sometimes we made a circle played a game with a little ball and it was so enjoyable. While we were playing this game, we had also made some practical about the numbers which we had learned.
In addition to we learned basic sentences and simple dialogs.Learning new language is very nice..You can have chance to learn eveything again like a baby.
Also our last lesson was so amusing.Everybody chose to tell their traditional recipe. We chose one of our traditional recipes which was called 'Karnıyarık'.It was Turkish name but I searched that it was same in English as well.Otherwise we had leart the name of some vegetables in Danish.Every group's picture was so creative and we had fun !! :)

special needs lessons and Favrdalskolen

Special needs..I haven’t had any lesson about special needs in Turkey yet.If Iwere in Turkey now, I would get the lesson about special needs this season. So I hadn’t very much information about special needs before. But I think I learnt a lot of things during the special needs lessons.

Also we had to prepare a presentation about "special education in Turkey" and we searched about "dyscalculia" which was relevant our branch. It was very usefull for me because while ı was searching about this topic, I had a general idea about special needs in Turkey. When the other presentations were told, we had a new chance to learn the other country' special needs.

During the lessons we mentioned about some important people for education such as Vygotsky and of course "Social Development Theory"...Vygotsky's theory was really important for education.I am also interested in ideas of Vygotsky. The relations between language, conception, social interaction were amazing.

11th March we went to visit the Favrdalskolen for school experience. At the Beginning our special teacher met to us and the headmaster who was gave some information about the introduction of school. The headmaster was in his casual clothes like the other teachers in Denmark. In Turkey not only the headmasters but also the teachers are their suit, when they were in the school.

The school was really big and composed of five buildings with green garden.Students classified according to their age group. It is important for their social life and meeting to similiar teachers. We had a tour around the school. We had a chance we watched their performance.Every class had a lot of material, laptops ,pictures that are everywhere. It was interested that most of classes hadn't door :) I must to say that they had very nice library.

Some classes had two teachers. While main teacher was telling the lesson other teacher try to help pupil who needs special education. So that the teacher would be supported and the pupil who needs special education was tried to adapt.(for physical disabilities )

After that we were divided some group to visit special classes. We joined to their English lessons. The class was composed of 6-7 pupils.

In my opinion the student who are studying in Denmark really lucky.I hope that they are using this oppurnity in the best way...

INTERNATIONAL WEEK

From the beginning to the end of the international week was wonderful!! It was one of my experiences which was the best I have ever seen.On monday we met international students and teachers that came from a lot of different countries (Total :Portugal, Spain, Belgium, Germany,Austria,Czech Republic, Hungary, Norway, Poland, Turkey and Denmark). We talked about stereotypes and drew a picture of our own culture and a different culture. In my opinion this action was very useful to think about other cultures and see that our differences, similarities..

International students didn't know where toilet is, where canteen is etc.We tried to help them of course and it was great emotion I felt like I was home. This feeling was great for meWe got some information about Danish Educational system from Jette and learned some Danish dance :)) It was so enjoyable with music.

All the week was full with activities. We prepared some pictures and text about our university , country as a group.Everybody created a stand about themselves and travelled every stand so the activite was so important to be social.

International buffet was excellent really.People from every country cooked some meal (especially their traditional foods) and we chose to cook SARMA, DOLMA and CACIK(the Turkish names). Also there was some ÇEKİRDEK.All of them were very delicious so we had fun. Some of our friends knew to eat çekirdek but I realized that most of people didn't know to eat it so we tried to learn how to eat çekirdek. In Turkey we like to eat çekirdek and also if you start to eat it, you may have a difficulty about how to give up it :D

On thursday was great because in that afternoon we travelled Ribe which was the oldest town of Denmark. Also In that evening was time eurovision!!!We listened songs from every country danced together. We had very hyggelige time =) Belgium was the winner congratulations! We were second place:) We sang the song which was from İstanbul the song was really very old. While we were singing the song we tried to our figures about that song. That night was very enjoyable. After the Eurovision contest we danced together had fun.

One of the important things was meeting Danish students who were studying on math.We talked about what was the meaningful of mathematics...how could we tell international week by using mathematics? Where was the place of math on this week?As well as we created a picture by using symbols of mathematical from our imaginary. In my opinion the activity was very nice and useful.Because Danish pupils mentioned their education in the university. All of us were studying on mathematics teacher. But I discovered a lot of differences about our educations.I will share my opinions the next posts :)

The end of the week we had to say "good bye" to the international students and teachers..Generally it was the worst thing if you like the time that we spent together.

Art Lessons :)

First week of Erasmus programme we had art lessons. When I was a child ,my teachers always liked my paintings.I was interested in painting and drawing a little but I needed a lot of time for my drawings. And I hadn't drawed my portrait untill that was art lessons :) So I had different experience during art lesson.I thought it was too short time to draw my portrait.I supposed that I couldn't.But at least it looked like me a little :) We tried different style by looking mirror , without looking the paper, by drawing just one line...Thus it was so enjoyable for me.So if didn't choose art it wasn't right :)

We are just three pupils that chose the art lesson from erasmus class. Before I came the lessons, I supposed that we would just draw. But it wasn't true this stuation made me more interested. And our teacher is so friendly like the others. We made sculptures of different positions of our teacher. The sculpture's material was different and hard it was first time I had seen.Trying with material, trying to form were amazing but really difficult.

some music and physical education =)

HEY!! =) I want to mention some our music and physical education lessons..:)

We had these lessons last week and we had fun so much.First of all I believe that both of them helped about making us more creative.

On the music lesson we listened a little music. We started to think that if we listened that music, how we would feel. (for instance;Once music was getting lower, generally it made us sad, emotional etc.) Firstly we listened the music and than everyone what we would imagine as a group.

Also during the music lessons we used our
body so we created new story that
would go along with the music and than
we acted..Watching performances and
acting these stories were so enyoyable for me I hope for everyone.

Also we learnt a song that called 'singing all together' with playing piano.

Beside all of them I like so much the music room that had all types of insrument and good ambiance so I suppose that if I stayed the music class all day, I wouldn't be getting bored=)

At the beginning of the physical education lesson we were so energetic and had fun during the lesson. We played the ball ofcourse with different rules.Viki was good at this subject.Nobody cathched her :)
On the other hand we tried to creative new actions with using a lot of equipment and than we tried most of action except too difficult actions :) At that night we had Carnaval so we were dancing and moving our body all the day so the following day I had a pain all of my body :)) but everything was okey! Because I was glad!

I am Turkish because..=)

On 10th of february we had lesson about Danish and stereotypes. We mentioned about cultures and habits of Danish and compared with our own cultures and habits.

I want to claim a bit Türkish culture now..:)

Have you heard that KEBAP untill now? Exactly!!you know we would like to eat kebap and dürüm so much.If you haven't eaten it yet, of course you should try it..You can tell I'm Turkish because I like to eat kebap ;)

Turkish raki..Raki is our national drink. There are a lot very place production of place in Turkey.(The most famous place:Edirne) Raki is drunk by most of people our country.Especially it is known that everybody prefer to eat with white cheese, melon. fish and different delicatassens, once they are drinking raki.. That is famous words in Turkey:)).."rakı..balık..ayvalık.."

As Turkish people we attach a high value on family and relationship. In my opinion family is very important to be social, save our values and continue our cultures. Also in Turkey by the time somebody wants to get married, their all relatives try to join wedding ceremony to share their happiness even they are so far.

Having a seperate room at home for the guest is one of different our cultures.Especially the guest room is dressed with using amazing laceworks.

Most of women are interested in laceworks on their spare time altough making laceworks is too difficult.

Maybe you heard that is our special glass to drink tea.I want to show very interesting photo that is wearing laceworks. Really these laceworks are incredible and tasting tea with our special glass make you in good spirits.I will say it's secret that it save warm tea.And the glass likes that Turkish girls who has thin waist :))

Beside all of them I want to mention one more different behaviour about kissing our parents' hand.We kiss our parents' hand once it is time on religious festival because we are Turkish :)

We learned a lot of things about other nationalities' culture during the lesson. It was very nice. Some of them...

You can tell I am a Belgian because I like to eat just Belgian chocolate!
You can tell I am a Belgian because one hour is too long to travel for me !

You can tell I am a Hungarian because I like paprika!

You can tell I am a Spanish because I love party!! ..:))

You can tell Iam a Norwegian because I like skiing and snowboarding!

You can tell I am a Czech becuse I play music instruments!

SMELLING OF HISTORY CAPITAL...Copenhagen

Copenhagen tour was looked forward to by all of us..After Haderslev, Copenhagen was very eventful and crowded for me.Because Haderslev was a very calm town.
I realized that everybody liked to spent their most of time at home or maybe the reason of this the weather was too cold :) Travelling the royal library, new harbour, the opera house, the little mermaid, amelienborg palace, the round tower, the national museum and the rosenborg castle was very consistent.

In my opinion I had ever been the best place in Copenhagen was the national museum. The National museum had a lot of historical objects from different nations and of course on Danish history. Also it was amazing that the national museum had a seperate museum for childrens.According to me it was very useful to be interested in history and learn new things for children. The national museum was the largest museum of culturel history in Denmark. Therefore it was impossible to see every place of the national museum for 2-3 hours.I hoped that I would visit these places again.

Beside of them travelling as group which was from different country did things in style.During our trip everything was okey. Thanks Jette for everything :)

OUR GREAT TRAVEL ;)

I realize clearly that we are very luck...

Sinem and me had an excellent weekend therefore we were very .Our trip started on saturday morning. We got up very early and got ready quickly.Firstly we went to Kolding by bus and than we got on the train to go to Fredericia. There was just one disgusting thing. It was too cold (: Ali ihsan faced us on the station and took us to his family's house by car.Their surname is OKUTAN so that once I mention, I will say that "Okutan Family"on the post.We arrived his family's home and had a wonderful breakfast.Actually we had had breakfast at our college but we had there again :)

After we had had breakfast, we met Gülsüm Emre and Anja.Gülsüm is very sweet girl with wavy hair. And than we went to a big shopping center in Kolding.I think Kolding warmly welcomed us..I bought something to wear for me.It was cooking time !!!We were very hungry (: It was the time I had tasted the most delicious pizza all my life.We ate to the pizza in marmaris pizza , I think you should try it.

In the evening we went to bowling. We were a very crowded group so that we had very enjoyable time.I thought the star of the night was Anja because she was good at playing bowling. My nail was broken while we were playing bowling but it wasn't important..
The next day we went to ski.I take a lot of photo of interesting places. We walked on frozen lake and travelled around center of Fredericia but every shop was closed bacause it was sunday.
On monday it was the first time we went to Germany.I bought a lot of clothes for my cousins and brothers as present anymore it was time to go back THANKS everybody that there were.

school experience!!

This is first experience for me.I haven't done school practice at my üniversity in Turkey yet.We meet Hanne in staff room.

The school that we come , has a lot of advantages.Because the school has every hardware, equipment, document and material to being needed so that I think they are very lucky. Before they start to lesson, students listen to 1-2 sing from piano.I think it's very useful to open their memory in the mornings. After some music they come to their class and the teacher start to lesson.

In my observation they are learning with models and shape of exercises.Every make these exercises alone. The teacher always asks to her student how to solve this problem or what they are doing.Teacher tries to teach by asking because she wants that student realize the concept themselves. Students are ansvering true or wrong . But it isn't important. The teacher try to tell differences or comparison about square and reckongle by asking to students.
I believe that the goverment of Denmark has very big budge for their education. I think that education system of Denmark is really amazing. This experience is very effective for me!! ;)
